Last weekend I had blogged about the rancid smelling mascara from Be A Bombshell, that most of us received in our Ipsy bags for for the month of June.
It was completely unacceptable and insulting that they would say it’s nontoxic, so just use it.
I can’t imagine Michelle Phan putting something like that on her face.
Anyway, after e-mailing Be A Bombshell cosmetics, I was advised this issue was being resolved by Ipsy. I promptly sent Ipsy an e-mail and hoped for the best.
Our conversation is as follows:
“My name is Nicole and I’m sure you’ve received this e-mail a dozen times already.
I am really disappointed in my Be A Bombshell Lash Out mascara. I sent them an e-mail and was advised that Ipsy would be handling any of their Ipsters complaints.
This was my last bag, as I’ve lost my job and can no longer afford the subscription until I get another job. You can imagine my disappointment when I received something that smells completely toxic and horrible.
I am really hoping that I can have a new item shipped out to me to make up for this product.
As soon as I get my finances in order, I’d really like to sign up for Ipsy again.
Thank you for your time.
– Nicole Greggo”
Thanks for writing to ipsyCare. We reached out to Be a Bombshell Cosmetics, and the mascara is safe for use. Although it may have a strong smell, Be a Bombshell chose not to include fragrance in their mascara since it’s often an irritant to sensitive skin.
They released a statement on their Facebook page which you can read here as well: mygl.am/BeABombshellMascara
We do really appreciate your feedback. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns — I’d be happy to help.
Thanks for following up. I’m sorry that you’re disappointed.
I can understand your frustration, and we definitely want you to have 5 products you can use this month. I’ve made a special exception and sent a different Be a Bombshell product out to you. You’ll get a tracking email within 5-7 business days.
There you have it. I’m really impressed with Ipsys response to this issue. I, unfortunately, just had to cancel my subscription because of financial reasons.
Once I’m in a more comfortable spot, financially, I will definitely be re-subscribing to this. I was also advised that my points would remain, until I sign up again. How cool is that?
So, if any of you received the lash out mascara and are less than pleased, go ahead and send Ipsy an E-Mail to get your product switched out. I will probably end up tossing the mascara. Some are reporting eye irritation. I already have horrible allergies, this time of year. I don’t need further irritation.
