I am absolutely loving this FabFitFun subscription box. The full size products that come in each box are absolutely wonderful. That’s right – no more tiny tubes of shampoo and conditioner just hanging around for months on end. One person couldn’t possibly use the amount of small products I’d get from Sephora Play! and Ipsy (both of which I’ve cancelled). I did enjoy those subscriptions, but I felt like I was throwing away money for shit that I just wasn’t using. With FabFitFun, I can at least give the product a real try. I’m also pretty excited that it’s not all beauty related. Last month’s box was that adorable black travel mug with a cute saying on it: Joy comes in the morning. I actually really like using that cup for work mornings! Anyway – Let’s dive into this months box!

Play! by Sephora August review!
Good afternoon, everyone!
Well, it has been quite some time since I sat at this keyboard and decided to get a blog post up. I really need to get better at this whole blogging thing. It really is something I enjoy, but you all know how it is.. Life get’s in the way and sometimes it’s just not possible to get creative.
I decided my first post back would be something on my Play! by Sephora box that I got this weekend. Let’s dive right in!

Dusty Rose/Bronze Makeup
Hey everyone and Happy Easter!
It’s been well over a week since I’ve written anything – literally no explanation for it – I just haven’t written!
My 31st birthday came and went yesterday. My boyfriend and I had a lovely time in Newport, RI. It’s the first time either of us has been there and it was definitely an experience. Unfortunately, it rained quite a bit the second day we were there, but our activity planned for that day was to tour the Newport Mansions. Have any of you ever done that before? It was an absolute blast. A couple of the food places we tried out were incredible. Missions (a hot dog and burger joint) made the *best* hot dog I’ve ever had. Awesome spot if you happen to be in the area.
Surprisingly, I didn’t touch makeup the entire time I was in Newport. I brought all my brushes and products I thought I’d use, but we were walking around and being all tourist-y the whole time. There was no point in getting all gussied up!
Today I decided I wanted to try a pink eye look. It turned out to be a dusty rose/bronze look that I think works well for the transition from winter to spring! Continue reading

NYX Wanderlust Go To Palette review and swatches!
Big news. Major news. OMG NEWS!
My local CVS finally revamped their makeup/beauty section. For the longest time it was the same stuff each week. On Thursday I stopped there for milk and – erm – $60 later I was the proud owner of some new-to-me items. The most updated section is the NYX display. I came very close to walking out with their new retractable brow pencil, but I wanted to hold off until I could determine which shade was best for me. I’ve heard that it’s comparable to the Anastasia Brown Wiz and it’s about $10 less.
When the Wanderlust Go To Palette originally came out, I wanted it. When I saw it in CVS, I still wanted it. So I bought it. Continue reading

Nude Dude Volume 2 by the Balm swatches and review!
So, my boyfriend and I came down with some stomach issues and the last 19 hours haven’t been the most pleasant.
I called out of work, he came home early from work and I’ve eaten toast and dry cereal so far today.
It just hasn’t been a good start to the week.
I need to get my game face on because my plan is to get to the office nice and early tomorrow to catch up on whatever it is that I’ve missed from today.
Never fear, I have a new-to-me product to review. I think this palette came out sometime 2014. Thanks to the great Amazon sale that you can read about here, I was able to score the Nude Dude Volume 2 by the Balm! Click that fancy little “more” button and keep reading for some swatches and a quick review. Thanks, guys! Continue reading

Amazon Luxury Beauty Promo
On top of posting all things makeup/beauty related (tips, before and afters, hauls, swatches, etc) I want to also post the deals that are often missed on these top brand items. Just because a palette is $44 dollars – It doesn’t mean you have to pay $44.
This cute little hobby of ours can get quite expensive and I want to help you guys out as much as possible.
If you have an Amazon Prime subscription, and you purchase today, you’ll have your shipment on Monday 3/7. The promo reads that a $25 credit will be added to your Amazon account for future purchases. Now, I don’t know about any of you, but I use Amazon all the time. Most of the time I keep a running credit in my Amazon account, so when I need to make an emergency purchase it’s there.
I already made my purchase this morning. One product is a repurchase and the other is a palette I’ve been eyeing for a long time. Keep on reading to get a sampling of the items you can purchase with this deal! Continue reading

MAC Haul!!
It’s 9:08 p.m on a Friday night. If I was 24 again I’d still be an hour away from heading out the door for a night of bar hopping with my girlfriends.
I’ll be 31 in three weeks. It’s now 9:11 p.m. I don’t know why it took me three – 9:12 p.m – four minutes to type what I’ve typed so far. I really need to get better at this blogging thing! Friday nights for 30 year old Nikki means a glass *cough* bottle *cough* of Chardonnay, a Modern Family marathon and diving into my latest and greatest haul!

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water Review
Keep calm, guys. I’m back!
I cannot believe I’ve been gone for over a year!
The last year has been filled with changes and opportunities. I turned 30 last March, my boyfriend and I moved to a bigger condo, we got a cat and my one year anniversary at my job passed in January.
Never fear beauty junkies – I have amassed quite the collection of beauty and makeup related products. I still can’t do a winged liner and when I apply false lashes they end up on my eyebrows, but nevertheless, the collection continues to grow.
I decided to do a review on a product that I can proudly call my holy grail makeup remover. Keep on reading for a full review on the new Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water. Actually, you don’t even have to read it if you don’t want to. Just go buy it. This face cleanser beats coconut oil, cream makeup removers, pre-moistened wipes, dry wipes, and any other remover you can imagine. No, Garnier didn’t send this product to me. Who do you think I am? Jaclyn Hill? Continue reading
